Go to the wiki article on films released when you were say 22-24. Now find films you completely forgot you saw in the theatre and possibly a little ashamed of. Side convo: How much have your tastes changed? For the first part for me, “Out of Bounds” with Anthony Michael Hall??? The fuh… Nowadays I rarely see films in the theatre, but apparently back then I would see films like “Gorky Park” with my circle of friends who were just a readily willing to see “Wisdom” or “Nothing in Common” or “Peggy Sue Got Married” edit: Oh good God, I saw “The Seventh Sign”? ---

That’s years 2002-2004 for me. I don’t go out to the theater that much, but I saw a few each of those years, none of which are particularly embarrassing/bad. Even adding in ones I saw after the fact, I’ve mostly seen popular, basically good movies. What is most interesting to me, is that reading over those lists, I feel like most of those movies came out “just a few years ago.” Turns out that “just a few years ago” means that 15 year olds I know now were born after those 2002 movies were released. Sheesh. This is what getting old(er) is like, eh? ---

Saw _The Little Shop of Horrors_ in '86 and other than an awesomely smug Steve Martin dismounting off the back of his motorcycle as it came to its own stop, that film was so grossly useless. ---

1. I’ve seen a couple of the crap movies on the list, but I don’t think I saw those in the theatre. I don’t have that precise a memory though, so maybe I misremember seeing Anaconda on TV a night there was nothing else on. ---

Oh God. _Guess Who’s Coming to Dinner,_ 1967. Horribly dated movie. The acting was fine, but it’s otherwise archaic. ---

Can’t see anything I saw in the theater that year that fits, and noticed some great films I’d love to see again. The only one that’s actively bad I saw as part of MST3K years later. Of those on the list, there are very few I wouldn’t want to see again. ---

Heh, I saw Titanic, As Good As It Gets and Good Will Hunting whilst \*working \*in an old-style, three-screen picturehouse, to fund my studies. I still enjoy those, although Titanic not so much. ---

In those days (1960-62) I was going mostly to art houses to see Bergman, Fellini, Satyajit Ray. Most of the American top boxoffice pictures I don’t even remember, but there was “Lawrence of Arabia” and “To Kill Mockingbird”. I’d be more likely to remember pictures from when I was 15. “On the Waterfront”. “Caine Mutiny”, "Glenn Miller Story.
