Tl;dr I’m a month into the new job, and something wunnerful happened today. We’ve had an expert from a major aircraft company in to analyze some data that was giving us trouble. He figured out what was happening, and I figured out the why. The fix I made was extremely easy once we knew what to look for. Today, I got the first attaboy of the new gig, something I never got irking at The Hrellhole for the lst five years. My Og, that felt good…😄 ---

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffeinatin’. _YAWN_ ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out with a predicted high for the day of 94. A taste of Fall in the mornin’ with Summer in the afternoon. **Spidey** see, grandma’s house always smelled of nummy stuff. That’s my big little ol’ lady house smell memory. The other smell I associate with LOLs is talcum powder. When I was a cub all LOLs used talcum powder. This puts me in memory of a friend who was complainin’ that all his nintey year old grandmother wanted for Christmas was talcum powder. He wanted to get her some fancy knickknack but I convinced him to buy several boxes of talcum powder instead. He told me that she told him he was the only one who got her what she really wanted. Good for him. Good for me! OK, that’s all I got. I need more caffeine and to feed rumbly tummy. Then, alas and alack, irk purtification must commence. Today I finish up monitorin’s in the local forty. Rah. Happy Thursday Y’all! ---

Way to go, **BBBobbio**! So you haven’t forgotten how to be an engineer! 😃 Alas for me, neither of my grandmothers baked, altho they didn’t have to. In the old Polish neighborhood in east Baltimore, there were lots of corner bakeries that made amazingly yummy stuff, from breads to donuts to cakes and pies. So neither grandmother needed to bake. Paternal grandmother always kept a package of Vienna Fingers in her oven (since she didn’t bake, it served as a cabinet.) I remember the one time my mom’s mother tried to bake cookies, she got the dough in a roll, and somehow she managed to ruin them. The woman made amazing soups, but she couldn’t bake to save her life. I spent the night on the recliner. No, we didn’t have a fight. 😛 When I lay down, I started having major coughing fits and neither of us could sleep. But being slightly more upright kept the coughing at bay - at least till about 4AM. Then Higgs woke, and I let her out, hoping she’d curl up next to me and sleep. Well, she did… eventually… and I got up around 6:30. \*\*FCD \*\*woke at 7, and that’s when I dragged myself back to shower and dress. I’m going to Lowe’s and WalMart today. I need top soil, grass seed, cat kibbles, dog kibbles, cat litter, and fish oil capsules. Envy my exciting plans! 😃 I’m also waiting to see if the guy calls about the drafting job. I think I want it. Retirement is getting boring again. Happy Thursday! ---

**FCM.** hope you get to feeling better. **Bobbio,** I will never understand bosses who don’t realize what a simple ‘attaboy’ can do in terms of individual/team morale. It’s such a simple thing, but even to a hard-core 34-yr. bureaucrat it makes me feel…better…to hear it. So take two more attaboys out of petty cash, Bobbio, and be thankful you’re at a place that values you. Other than that, is it Firday yet? ---
