I don’t see him having an ability and not making good use of it though. Well, it’s possible, but it’s not the first assumption I’d make. Danko’s connection to abilities could just be that he’s the guy assigned to hunt them; he does have a direct connection to Nathan, after all, plus personal interaction with several more (Peter, Parkman, Tracy). Danko is a single-minded asshole – morality plays no part in getting to his objective. It wouldn’t at all surprise me if his assholery rose to the level of being a war criminal. If he thought it was more expedient, I can totally see him offing a bunch of civilians and then lying about it to obtain whatever objective he had. He had no qualms about making Parkman out to be a suicide bomber, after all, and was willing to blow up not only Parkman, but Nathan and a bunch of DC cops, too.
