Deliberately started very early to forestall any baby-talk named threads. When last we saw our heroes, Sylar was dead (_or was he?!_) and Peter and Nathan were exploded (_or were they?!_). Claire and Noah (snerk) were re-united and about to embark on a search for the rest of the family. Hiro was in feudal Japan. DL was critically injured and Niki was still spelling her name with just the one K. Tonight: no idea. Haven’t seen a spoiler all summer. Apparently it’s four months later (which would make it March 2007) from the ep title but beyond that I know nothing except that my newly-hooked-on-S1 friend is going to be suffering. ---

I got hooked last season, although I never saw the first 5 or 6 episodes. I hope than can keep up the good work afterwards. Anyone planning to watch “Journeyman” afterwards? It looks pretty hokey, but how can you not give a show a chance when it stars Lucius Vorenus? It won’t be “Rome”, but who knows… ---

Given NBC’s penchant for rebroadcasting on various subsidiary channels I figure that “Chuck” is my best bet for a free repeat later in the week. That’s also my “Bionic Woman” strategy for Wednesday, which conflicts with my ability to record “Dirty Sexy Money” on ABC. Of course they’ll probably run it across from something _else_ I want to watch… I wonder how much a cheap second TV, VCR and cable connection would be? ---

Damn, I forgot about _Prison Break_. I had planned on giving up on that show after the disappointing ending last season, but this season’s opener was surprisingly… not bad. I can’t say “good”, but it wasn’t half bad. Still, \*Heroes \*has to be the prime target tonight. The writers really do a good job with that show (and I’m not usually a fan of comic book type shows or movies). ---

It’s OK, PB is on at 8 EDT/7 CDT and Heroes is on at 9/8. Heroes does conflict for me with High Stakes Poker on GSN, though that does get rebroadcast at least once during the week. ---

If your cable system offers DVR, then it’s probably around $10 per month to be able to tape two things at once, plus a one-time fee to start the service. If you don’t like ongoing payments, then an A/B setup from radio shack will probably run you under $20, and it’ll allow you to tape one thing while watching another. From radio shack you’d need to buy: 1 splitter, 1 A/B switch, and 3 fairly short coax cables. Basic idea: The cable where it comes in from the wall goes directly into splitter. Splitter goes out in two directions. The first goes directly into one of the A/B switch inputs. The other goes into the cable box and then to the VCR before going into the other A/B switch input. The A/B output goes directly to the tv. With this setup, you can tape on any channel your cable box supports. If you want to watch something else while you’re taping, set your tape and then switch to the other A/B setting. You’re limited to watching only basic cable, but you can watch a different channel from the one you’re taping. It works pretty nice, actually; I did this for the last decade before recently upgrading to cable DVR. (Which kicks all kinds of ass.) Will be watching “Heroes” but maybe not until tomorrow, so don’t be surprised if I don’t pop in again until Wednesday. I wish I lived in Chicago. ---

Sorry, but the lol-heroes is funny. My big TV gets terrible reception because I don’t have cable or an antenna for it, so I usually watch TV on a 13 incher with a VCR and record the show, too. Well, I forgot that at the end of last season the VCR was not working right and I put a tape in this afternoon to make sure I had a tape ready and it got stuck in the TV and the TV kept turning itself off after a couple seconds. I could not get the tape to eject so I had to go buy a new TV. I got a separate DVD/VCR but I wasn’t able to get it hooked up to record in time. After I got home and started setting it up, I realized that my old antenna won’t work with this TV so I have to run out again and find a new pair of rabbit ears.
