Okay, I have been called (at various times) **Flamsterette\_X** , **Flam** , **F\_X** , **FX** , **Flami** , **Flam X** , **The Flamster** , and **Flami-o**. (plus probably a few other variations) What I would really like to be called, though, is **Sarne** or **Macy**. (only **jackelope** will get this, I think) F\_X ---

I prefer to randomly craft shortened nicknames when I’m feeling jocular, and doing full nicks the rest of the time. Fred is my favorite of the shorteneds, I wish I’d thought of it. You can all feel free to call me Benjamin. I’ve only had one person call me Benjamin on a regular basis, and I thought it was neat. It might confuse the normals, though. ---

Here’s the trick: if you’re so forgettable that nobody knows who you are, then you don’t have to keep track of what they call you 'cuz they never do. Works for me. 😃 ---

I wonder at what username length people feel compelled to contrive a nickname for another poster? I don’t think anyone has even attempted to try one on my name. Although I’ve always been fond of Osy Cosy (o-see co-see) which my Dad invented when I was a kid, even though it’s longer. ---

While I’ve always wanted to be called **You Magnificent Stud** (preferably by a young redheaded female), I figure the odds of that happening are about the same as my flapping my arms and flying to the Moon. **Your Majesty, King of the World** would be nice, too. However, on the SDMB, I’ll answer to almost any recognizable variant on my username. ---
