Sorry to join in on the roast, but I have to second **ETF, faithfool** , and a few others: While I consider most of **Brutus** ’s expressed political views to hail from the Neolithic, and cannot see where he finds ground for his allegiance to Der Shrubfuhrer, he is one of the few strong conservatives here with a self-deprecating sense of humor, who is willing to trade jibes good naturedly. That for me counts for a lot. If we’re ever in the same town, **Brutus** , I want to buy you a beer – provided that there’s an agreement we don’t talk politics over it! 🙂 ---

Since **Brutus** generally does a good job defending himself, in his own way, he ceertainly doesn’t need my voice of support. He has it, though. Look, the conservatives on this board are, admittedly, an odd lot. We kind of like to be contrarian. If we didn’t like this, all of us would become Freepers and join that huge circle-jerk. I think **Brutus** does a great job of challenging the Straight Dope CW, and I’d like to thank him for that. ---

Only as much as regurgitating the talking points is “challenging” anything. Let me make this clear: I’m not pitting Brutus because he is a conservative (don’t tell me you actually thought that). Not even because of his mindless allegiance to all things bush. It is because of his juvenile repetitive posts. **Bryan Ekers** said it best in this thread and self-deprecating humor isn’t going to convince me otherwise.
