I still don’t get the joke.
I was just stating that A: I didn’t know what BB Code was (or according to Google, BBCode), and B: After Googling the definition, it appears that brocks is just kidding.
As for what joke means, I just assumed he/she was being silly.
That one pisses me right the hell off. I grew up in Tucson, AZ, where temperatures of 115 and higher are not uncommon in the summer. Tell someone from, say, Florida or Georgia about it and they come back all smarmy with “but it’s a dry heat” as if their humid 93 degrees somehow compared.
I inform them that 93 degrees in humidity might feel like 100 degrees, but that 115 degrees and dry, still fucking feels like 115 degrees. I then point out that it’s probably not even actually a dry heat, given that the hottest months in Arizona coincide with the monsoon season, so you’ve frequently got super high temps AND humidity. And add to that the places that only have evaporative coolers rather than air conditioning (FL and GA people would NEVER go without A/C!) which doesn’t really work unless it’s bone dry…
…well, let’s just say that it’s a sensitive spot with me and move on.
“So’s a pizza oven.”
I think I see why you didn’t get that job with the Phoenix Chamber of Commerce.
