I’ll just chime in to agree with the Op that it could have been a lot more serious. Virtually the exact same thing happened to a friend of mine - except that he didn’t land flat on the floor. Rather - he hit his head against the bottom foot or so of the wall. As a result - he’s been in a wheelchair for the last 4 years. He’s regained significant motion in his upper body but it’s not clear at all whether he’ll ever walk again.
I’m so sorry! My father had a couple of episodes where he was fighting someone in his dreams and launched himself out of bed. The last one he smashed his forehead on the bureau and hurt his neck. I insisted he develop a restraint system after that.
Before we got my 93 your old mother a Life Alert type device (different brand), we had her wearing her cell phone in a pretty case on the string around her neck, so she’d have it when she fell. It might be something for you to consider, when you are climbing ladders and whatnot. Easier to grab if you fall, than remembering and finding where you put it.
OP, glad you’re better, no more fainting, ok?
I managed to stay conscious during Election night, though I don’t want to know what my blood pressure got up to.
