The other day I was thinking about the movie _Free Enterprise_. I realized that the actor who portrayed Robert (Rafer Weigel), looked very similar to the actor who portrayed Yun in the _Jedi Knight_ cutscenes. A quick trip to IMDB confirmed that they are, in fact, one and the same. With Free Enterprise being loaded with Star Wars and other sci-fi references, and having been released a year after Jedi Knight, I thought it quite fitting that one of the main characters had actually portrayed a Jedi earlier in his film career. I haven’t played Jedi Knight in at least two years and haven’t fully completed it in even longer, but the realization that Yun had gone on to star in a movie with William Shatner (as well as having briefly portrayed Michael York’s character from _Logan’s Run_ during a dream sequence), is really quite cool. I also noticed that the actor portraying Magistrate Higgins in the _Firefly_ episode, Jaynestown (Gregory Itzin), was also President Logan in _24_. Also neat, but not a nostalgia trip for me like the Yun/Robert connection. So what are your “I recognize that actor!” moments? ---

The guy who played Vice President Gardner on 24 on season 5 also played President Dugan in the cut scenes for Command and Conquer: Red Alert 2. ---

I have these a lot, which is why I thank Og for IMDb. 😉 Last night, in fact, we were watching [Stick It](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0430634/) with my daughter (not a bad movie, really) and kept looking at the woman who played the main character’s mother. Couldn’t figure out why she looked familiar though, until I checked IMDb & discovered she was “Cousin Nikki” in [My Big Fat Greek Wedding](http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0259446/). Aha! ---

[Alan Dale](http://imdb.com/name/nm0197638/), who’s Bradford Meade on _Ugly Betty_, was Penelope’s father on _Lost_ and Vice President Prescott on _24_. (Prescott was the VP who briefly seized control from President Palmer in season 2). This guy is all over the place, but I still had to go to IMDb because I couldn’t remember his name. :smack: ---

Sticking with the 24 theme. I was watching Major League on TV after 24 debuted and I noticed Dennis Haysbert’s name in the opening credits. I racked my brain trying to figure out who he played. It had to be some minor background character because I couldn’t picture the greatest fictional President of the United States anywhere in Major League. Then he walked on screen. Holy shit! President Palmer is Pedro Cerrano! ---

I just had a major “Holy crap! Is that the same guy?” moment recently as I was watching _Breakfast at Tiffany’s_. “George Peppard. Hang on. Isn’t that also the name of that guy… Actually, when you mention it, maybe he does look a little bit like… oh, no way!” _looks up on IMDB_. Yeah. When i was a teenager in the 1980s, he was a main character in Neighbours, Australia’s biggest and longest-running soap opera. I never imagined he’d make it in the “big time” of American prime time. It’s good to see him doing so well, and i think his American accent is generally pretty convincing, although there are times when i catch a trace of Aussie or Kiwi in there (he worked in Australia, but was born in New Zealand). As for the thread topic, my wife constantly rolls her eyes at all the “He’s the actor…” comments i make when we’re watching TV. I’m a long-time fan of _NYPD Blue_ and _Law and Order_, and it seems like just about every actor on TV has appeared on one of those shows at one time or another. We’ll be watching TV, and some new character will appear on the screen, and i’ll say something like “That guy played two different characters on _NYPD Blue_; a candy-store robber in Season 2, and a crooked detective in Season 5,” or “She had a recurring role as a defense attorney on _Law and Order_.”
