I’m happy to not give a shit about a combat star. Is there some implication that military service means a person can’t be an asshole? Or does it mean that we’re supposed to respect assholes if they’ve been in the military? If the answer is yes to either question, that’s a huge part of what’s wrong with our country: it signals that we’ve gone beyond simply respecting people who do a difficult, dangerous job and moved into an arena in which criticism of the military is not allowed. But I don’t think the answer is yes to either question. I think the reason we’re supposed to give a crap is because an asshole reasons like an asshole, and only an asshole would think military service would keep someone from being an asshole. ---

BOT, Before this thread was turned into a flame war against me,BTW I’m not a racist, I find racist of any color offensive. I just find it profoundly stupid that people will accept racism by a minority without question. As I am given to understand Caucasians are not a majority anymore. Whites are outnumbered by Blacks, Browns, Yellows and Reds. We need some Blues, Greens, and Oranges to fill the Crayola Box. BWT '89 Just Cause-Panama ---
