Now I have this disturbing image of Marv covered in whipped cream. At least now we won’t have to hear about the Mavs for a while. Though I doubt it, it’s barely possible that Najera has acquiesced to this pronunciation. Others have done it, like Felipe Alou[sup]\*[/sup], who allows himself to be known as Ah-LOO (now there’s an Indian name for you!) in the US. [sup]\*[/sup]He’s quite gracious about it, since his last name isn’t even Alou. ---
