I would think that a responsible citizen has a moral duty, if presented with a tremendous civic hazard to her nation, to use such opportunities as arise to speak out and state that there exists a civic hazard. That just makes sense to me. If you are a responsible citizen and there is a major problem in your country, you must be involved, and speaking out in protest is the most fundamental part of involvement, is it not? Meryl Streep is, in fact, an American citizen. Donald Trump’s Presidency is a matter of public discourse and does, in fact, present a tremendous hazard to the American people. Why should Streep not speak her mind on the issue? More pointedly, isn’t it kind of her job, as a citizen, to do so? ---

Have you met “everyone”? The Democrat collective “knows” whatever the Democrat collective tells them it’s OK to know. Their Groupthink for all. No other sources of information are deemed acceptable. Ya know, that commercial with Trump making fun of the disabled reporter ran for months and months and months and months and months and months and more than once per hour in its prime. If making fun of everyone in the exact same way makes everything just fucking hunky-dory, and he’s been doing that all along, why didn’t he just say so back in, like, September? :dubious: ---

I don’t agree with that, but even if I did, are you saying there is a “tremendous civic hazard” in mocking a reporter? A presidential candidate (at the time), now president. I think this is rather different from Joe Blow mocking a reporter. ---
