God fucking damnit, people. (And I usually avoid using God like that.) When someone comes in and drops a rant about something that really upsets them, how shitty a person do you have to be to come in and call them a liar? If you have a personal problem with the guy, so that you think he’s less than trustworthy, come out and say what it is. But we all know what it’s really about. “Look at how smart I am! I didn’t believe this one perfectly plausible.” Never mind that you have absolutely no evidence that it is false. Never mind that we’ve had plenty of pit threads about people just like this neighbor–ones you didn’t self stimulate about not believing. It’s a fucking rant. We all know there’s more than one side. It doesn’t make you better to point that out. It shows you’re just spoiling for a fight. It shows that you are, like the neighbor, someone who freaks out about unimportant shit. ---

I got a cousin. He received a letter from a neighbor-lady across the street informing him he was “the worst neighbor in history,” among other superlatives. The only crime outlined in said letter was the light on the side of his garage which shone at all hours straight into her house. I know for a fact that the light was on a motion sensor, and 60W. And I am sure my cousin would have taken reasonable actions if she had ever told him that it bothered her. He’s actually a very nice person. Me? I’ve been blessed with very good neighbors. Only had words once when the overprotective one didn’t like the way one of my guests was driving, but that same neighbor came over with his chainsaw and helped me clear out after a big ice storm (and this was after our words) so we’re cool. ---
