# Hey, San Diego Dopers (and all those who like Dopefests)

For those cool kids who aren’t already in the know, if you like meeting fellow Dopers and attending Dopefests, **[meetup.com](http://meetup.com)** is a good way to keep the ball rolling, especially if you want to make it a semi-regular thing. There’s already an SDMB category at [http://sdmb.meetup.com](http://sdmb.meetup.com) so if you haven’t already, give it a shot.

For the San Diego Dopers, I think it might be keen to meet more regularly, as we always have fun when we get together. I might even be tempted to head up to L.A. from time to time if they were to do a regular one.

Basically it just makes planning easier. And aren’t we all about slacking?

I’ve just been over there checking things out.

Turns out San Diego is the 9th most popular city on their site.

I registered, and was perusing the different categories. You can pretty much meet up with all sorts of folks. Some very intriguing categories.

Yup. Odd, though - they only have a queer politics meetup. I put in for a queer social one, which I think would be more fun (I’m part of the queersandiego LJ community and we’re trying to do a meetup ourselves).
