I just saw a television commercial featuring Jennifer Garner talking about her dad. Aw, ain’t that sweet, James Garner died not too long ago, and here you are mentioning him, and relating a story. Then, a man enters the scene and she refers to him as Dad. Hey wait a minute!! That’s not James Garner, he’s dead! Is it just me, or did you think her dad was James Garner, too? ---

It’s just you, although for a moment, I thought that the White House spokesperson Sarah Huckabee Sanders was the daughter of the former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee and married into the family of Senator Bernie Sanders. (The first is true, while the second is not.) ---

I didn’t either. Didn’t even occur to me until now. (As it happens, a friend of ours was a sorority sister of Jennifer Garner’s in college. Said she was very nice but didn’t know her all that well). ---

I never thought Jennifer Garner and James Garner were related. But I’ll admit there was a time when I thought Jean Stapleton and Maureen Stapleton were sisters. And John Ritter really was the son of Tex Ritter. ---

Then I checked Wikipedia for both of them, and by golly, you’re right! The uncanny physical resemblance comes from them being fourth cousins. ---
