Nah, I do not think that it is historical. I remember reading in “The naked Ape” by Desmond Morris, that humans naturally find naked skin more appealing then covered. One of the consequences of that is that there are only two things that are known to be universally attractive, youth and clear skin. There is almost nothing that is a more powerful attractant than uncovered, blemish free skin. ---

I hate it when my legs get hairy. I hate going more than ONE day without shaving…it just doesn’t FEEL right. I like my legs nice and smooth. But, whatever floats your boat. I do, however, draw the line at shaving the naughty bits. :eek: ---

See, while I have a militant stance re: leg shaving, I have been known to wax the girly bits now and then. Not completely (ew… and ow) but just trimming the verge, as it were. ---

I’m a guy and once had to shave my legs for a couple months as part of a live theatre production. Clothes & bedsheets felt weird, as they were directly touching my skin rather than being held slightly away by the leg hair. Kind of like putting on too much lotion before getting dressed, and your clothes clinging to the excess moisture. I have no problem with unshaven legs on a woman, but also appreciate the effort expended by those with smoothies. ---

I only bother shaving my legs when I feel like it. Being in a long distance relationship makes it so that I could go a month or longer without shaving anything, but I’ve gotten used to smooth skin on certain areas that I just shave it anyway, regardless of whether he’s around or not. ---

I remember some old Ann Lander’s column about women who were not allowed in public swimming pools because they did not shave. They were told it was unsanitary. I can’t remember what Ann said, but a lot of readers agreed they should be kept out. Ridiculous. ---

I kind of like have smooth legs, I feel more feminine (SP?). For a while I used NAIR,but I had to quit because it smells like dead , rotting, fish. ---

It’s winter… doing this time razors do not exist. I occassionally shave though. Except for last winter when me and a friend had a contest to see who could go without shaving their legs the longest. Hmm i don’t exactly know who won that! ---

I can go a few weeks without shaving my legs and it doesn’t bother me. Armpits, however, are quite different. Once the hairs get long enough to prickle and bother me (which isn’t very long at all, really), it’s time for those suckers to go. ---
