It’s interesting to read Rand Brooks’ name in that article. Apparently, from what I’d read, Scarlett O’Hara’s first husband played quite a few Western villains!

You look at that kid stumbling all over Scarlett in the early scenes of GWTW and tell me if you see a villain. Now that’s acting!

I know this thread is a zombie…but I can’t help noting something: Songs like **[“Hi Ho Silver Lining”](http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JzsvWbgMaUA)** (the linked version being the best known one by Jeff Beck, but the original was/is by The Attack) certainly couldn’t have helped the ‘Hi Ho!’ versus ‘Hi Yo!’ confusion.

I know it’s a zombie, but _The Lone Ranger_ airs every day on Cozi TV. I watch it regularly and the Masked Man, whether it’s Clayton Moore or John Hart, always says “Hi-Yo, Silver!” The narrator at the beginning of each episode also repeats, “A fiery horse with the speed of light, a cloud of dust, and a hearty ‘Hi-Yo, Silver!’ The Lone Ranger.”

> The Lone ranger and Tonto slept under the stars near a campfire all the time. Nor wold it have been unlikely they shared a bed in some kind of hotel had there actually been such characters. Of course Tonto would know. Now if it had been that Jay Silverheels knew Clayton Moore slept with the mask on, that might have raised some questions.

For those who have never seen the full-length feature film with Clayton Moore and Jay Silverheels, they slept under the stars around a campfire _fully clothed_: mask, boots, gunbelt, bandana, the whole shmear. And they woke up fresh as a daisy, without needing a morning toilette!

Heck, you don’t even need a TV. Here’s a [whole bunch of episodes](https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCwXzk_2rtNp7wfmwE5TqTEg); you can listen to every one and hear it yourself.

Here’s some amusing “Lone Ranger” trivia: According to John Hart, who played the Lone Ranger in 52 episodes of the series, the Ranger’s horse Silver and Tonto’s horse Scout didn’t like each other.

> [@](#):
>
> Hart also noted with amusement that the Ranger’s famous horse Silver and Tonto’s horse Scout did not get along. “They hated each other, it was really funny,” he said. “We’d pull up and have some dialogue and the horses would start nipping at each other and dancing around.” The misbehaving horses often forced the actors to shoot their close-ups in saddles mounted on sawhorses, Hart said.
