# Hi, I'm new. As most of the new users, I’ve been lurking for a long time. Today, I finally shelled out 15 bucks to get into a worthless argument in the pit. Luckily, that’s quite unlike me. I tend to lurk and remain quiet, unless I’m really, absolutely sure what I’m talking about. The only two areas I consider myself knowledgeable of are [Lego](http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?m=mahjqa) and [computer graphics](http://sigs.mahjqa.com/). Should you have any questions about those two things, you can regard this as an “Ask the Lego addict / Photoshop whiz” thread. I’m sure someone will bring in the goats any moment now. ---

Thanks for the welcome. In the pit thread I [confessed my disdain](http://boards.straightdope.com/sdmb/showpost.php?p=7595132&postcount=14) for a certain luddite who doesn’t want to run with the program. As I said, it wasn’t really worth getting into. However, supporting the SDMB with my measly 15 bucks is well worth it. It is quite propably the most entertaining and interesting thing I ever paid for. I’m hoping they use it to feed the hamsters. They seem to be starving at times. ---

Ahhh. Now I think I know what **Hal** is planning to do with that 14-foot sheep. _ahem_ WELCOME, **MostlyClueless**! Um, yes, so. I used to love Lego as a kid. I’d build transformers out of them. They really worked, too – but I never had enough hinge pieces to do really complex ones, much to my chagrin. I also happen to love Photoshopping, and occasionally enter contests at Worth1000 whenever I feel like the subject matter is something I could semi-competently pull off. (Which is rare) I’m hardly a wiz, but I can tool around with adequacy at least. I say all of this by means of a friendly hello, and not in any way to distract your attention from other … matters … occurring behind me. Hal, dude, watch where you’re aiming that tail. ---

There was a small line (the size of this i) crawling all over the screen, and as I tried to brush it away I found out it was actually on the inside. it stopped moving a couple of minutes ago. Oooh, PhotoShop! **MostlyClueless** , I think we should go into business together. See, here’s the thing. A friend of mine at work asked me if I could PhotoShop an engagement ring onto her left hand because she wanted to play a joke on her mom. That wasn’t too hard. But the cool this is this…about two weeks after I did it, her boyfriend really DID give her an engagement ring! So I’m think I must have the enchanted, wish-granting PhotoShop mojo. So if people come up with really tricky ones, like “make me look 50 lbs. thinner,” you can tell me how to do it. I think we’ll make buckets of money. (Hell, why don’t you just tell me how to PhotoShop buckets of money into a photo of me in my living room?) Anyway, welcome. I’m purty new here my own self. ---
