I was trying to refute another guy’s assertion that Trump’s decision to authorize and sign off on the raid was impatient and thoughtless, given that Trump knew how long it had been planned by the previous administration, and given that James Mattis–one of the most respected statesmen out there–approved it to Trump. They knew the risks, but knew that it was a mission that was worth carrying out due to the intel on al-Qaeda and other extremist groups. ---
