whats the higest number of babies a woman has become pregnant with at any one time? (this is regardless of how many survived)

There was a British woman a few years back pregnant with 8 babies. They all miscarried. Pretty sad business. Doctors told her that was the likely result and she should abort two to save the others. However the tabloid press offered her ££££ for an exclusive if she gave birth to 8 live babies. Greed won out with the predictable results.

Highest # of babies conceived spontaneously: A 24 year old Argentinan woman in 1992 miscarried duodecaplets [_12 fetuses - WN_], conceived without fertility intervention of any kind.
Highest # of babies born: Decaplets [_10 babies - WN_] (higher numbers have been conceived, but not carried long enough to be considered “born” rather than miscarried).
Highest # of babies that all survived: Septuplets. [_7 babies - WN_] There are two sets of septuplets in the world where all 7 babies survived, the McCaugheys in the USA and Humair/bin Mohammed Sammam in Saudi Arabia. There is a set of octuplets in Texas where 7 survived.
