High-risk mission to Mars. Do you volounteer?

I understand your reasoning but I hold the opposite opinion. For a young person like myself, throwing away 50 to 75 years on something like this tends to look less appealing. Looking at it another way, what if someone gave me two options:

1)I can travel 50 years into the future and get to see and experience all the new stuff that humanity comes up with in 2056, or
2)I can probably be killed trying to get to mars

I’d take 2056 in a heartbeat. All I’ve got to do is stay healthy and drive safely. However, once I’m much older I could see myself coming around to your point of view.

I guess we can understand the low estimate of success.

But I’d probably go anyway.
