My high school dances were filled with the “Macarena” and other various songs you can line dance to. For the slow dances? Bon Jovi: Always (a favorite among most of the students) Bryan Adams: Everything I Do (Awww…the memories of first kisses) ?Scorpion?: Wind(s) of Change: (I’ve come to hate this song for various reasons) Hmm…the rest have escaped my memory. ---

**Dewaholic** , they played ‘Stairway’ a few times at my high school dances and I graduated in '95. And I don’t remember the song. But, I remember the girl. I remember the way her gown rustled as we danced, I remember the way her eyes sparkled while looking up to me. I remember how much I was in love with her, and I remember how much it hurt to find out that she did not love me. 😭 I wish I could forget. I’m gonna go hide in a corner now. ---

I graduated in 1988. I heard entirely too much Chicago…“Hard to Say I’m Sorry” “Hard Habit to Break” “You’re the Inspiration”. Gack. If I hear “Open Arms” by Journey one more time I’m going to vomit. I even leave the room during that scene when we’re watching “Heavy Metal.” “Stairway to the Song That Never Fucking Ends” …I mean, “Heaven.” Hate Zep. Hate Song. hate. Hate. HATE. “Drive” - The Cars. “Crazy For You.” “If You Leave.” “So In Love.” “I Miss You.” “You Got It All,” by Madonna, OMD, OMD, Klymaxx and the Jets, respectively (but not at all respectFULly). I hated high school. I hated dances. Novi, MI can kiss my white ass. (Bitter much? NAW…) ---

I was completely besotted with a girl, and the first slow song we ever danced to in high school was “Forever Young” by Alphaville. I’m a child of the Eighties. To this day, it’s still my favorite slow dance song. ---
