Although very few high school teams brand themselves after the University of Southern California, I have it on good authority that a very large proportion of high school athletes use products emblazoned with their logo! 
Pity the official song of the University of Wisconsin and the State of Wisconsin, On Wisconsin! is in the public domain. The Badgers could clean up on royalties and probably endow the State never to collect taxes on its citizens ever again.
