High-Speed Internet Access in Rural Areas

WITHOUT FAIL, get your system installed in the Summer when all the leaves are out to be sure no trees are in the way.

Here is a link to WildBLue Uncensored where you can read all the good, bad and ugly posts from WB users.
I first installed on a PC; when I moved the satellite modem to a router to connect other PCs in my house, it didn’t work. Tech support couldn’t help although I talked to a nice lady for about an hour. Seems the modem obtains info, perhaps the MAC address of the PC and won’t talk to anything else until it is powered off and back on. Sometimes one must cycle the power to the modem. I had to do that Saturday, and it’s been at a guess a month since I’ve had to.
Signal reception varies with trees, how well the installer did his job and weather.
Bandwidth varies with trees and how many folks are logged on at the same time.
WB makes an effort to keep us from using bandwidth; they will cut your speed if you download over a certain amount. I have never had this happen. I tried to use the app that shows how much bandwidth I’ve used. When it didn’t work, tech support mailed me back, “That just doesn’t work for some of our users.” They don’t carry many of the User Groups. I don’t know if this is to prevent my making lots of downloads, or if they are concerned with copyright issues.
By and large I am happy with it.
