Suppose one is exposed to a cool/cold temperature for 20-40 hours - basically, one or two days, nonstop. What is the highest temperature that this could be for chilblains to still set in, especially in one’s extremities?

55 F?

I’m not sure there is a definite answer for this.

Onset of chilblains in relation with weather conditions.

> The cold weather conditions that can be endured by humans depend on combination of the duration and the extent of the exposure, in addition to physiological adaptive changes. However, susceptibility to chilblains increases when ambient temperature is less than 10 degrees C and relative humidity is more than 60%. Elderly, females, outdoor workers and those having chronic or recurrent episodes of chilblains are less tolerant to cold weather and develop the disease under lesser ambient cold.

[OSHA](https://www.osha.gov/sites/default/files/2018-11/fy12_sh-23584-12_Chilblains.pdf)gives a high of 60 degrees for formation but without duration and adjacent temperatures, I wouldn’t think you could translate that to an answer for your specific conditions.
