I tried to watch it. I really did. But the more I watched it, the more I longed for Highlander 2. At least that had Michael Ironside. Other than 3 actors and quotes from the Queen song “Princes of the Universe”, did this have any connection to the movies or series? ---

You know, it’s an odd thing. Highlander was a quirky little movie not without its flaws, but with a delightful execution of a whimsical premise. Since it developed something of a cult following, you’d think someone would have tried to do some sequels or spin off a TV series or two. Probably just as well no one ever did, since they inevitably would have been disasters. ---

The third movie had some points which weren’t abominable, and the TV show did have some great episodes which worked well stand-alone. ---

That’s the thing…the tv show was definitely fun. Roger Daltrey? I’m there. But man…despite Methos, what a waste of time. ---

Simply horrifying. Ack! What a festering piece of flaming shit. This abomination of SciFi’s new “film cheap, awful pieces of shit in Eastern Europe in lieu of legitimate science fiction” policy fits in well with a network that cheerfully cancels quality programming like _The Dresden Files_, but this load of waste is beneath Panzer/Davis. I can see the production approach used as appropriate for _Spider versus Snake III: The Apocalypse_, but not for the Highlander franchise. \*\*\*This treatment of the franchise is precisely analagous to digging up one’s deceased relatives and renting them out to a Necrophiliac Convention. Hey! NecroCon2007! How 'bout you screw my dead relatives? They’re cheeeeeeap! \*\*\* Seriously, when the discredited Highlander II is better, and when the abominable sequel containing Mario van Peebles is better, and when the depressing one where they killed off Connor is better, … What were they thinking?!They released this, on purpose. Perhaps the Russian Mafia kidnapped beloved relatives of the cast, as well as of Panzer and Davis? I would have expected this kind of crap if Panzer/Davis and the original cast had abandoned the project. This sort of production fits perfectly as a zombified sequel, but this thing rivals Britney Spears’ recent “come back” in its’ awfulness. I’m trying to imagine the sort of short-bus focus group required to clear this debacle for public consumption. ---

God, what a piece of shit. They seemed to use every cheesy visual trick from the last decade of film-making in an attempt to seem edgy. How bad was it? It’s a Highlander movie, and there’s not a single good fight scene. A lot of fighting, but filmed in such an irritating, jerky way that you can’t tell what’s happening. Worse than _Gladiator_. And what the _hell_ were they supposed to be looking at in the sky? Apparently all the planets of the Solar System had not only lined up in front of the previously-unknown “central star of our Galaxy”, but had all moved really close to Earth. Jesus Christ, it’s like they were trying to make it as stupid as possible. The original movie was fun, and the series had some great episodes. What a crappy end, and what a sad wrap-up for some interesting characters. ---

He is (assumed, but not likely) the last - the ‘One’ - all the other Immortals are gone - all thier rules were broken - everything they fought for was a ‘lie’ - I really don’t want to see Duncan raising little Methos. I want my 2 hours back - I really enjoyed the series - missed most of the last season - and I had hoped this was going to continue in the same vien… it didn’t. ---

Hey now, the vitriol against the SciFi channel (at least in this case) is pretty misplaced, as it merely premiered in the US on SciFi (they label every first-run movie a SciFi Original). The movie was supposed to get a theatrical release a year ago. ---

I just couldn’t bring myself to watch it, but I am very interested to see what they thought the “source” was (they were all aliens right? :rolleyes: ) Can someone spare my brain box and spoil it for me. I really don’t want to have to watch it myself. ---

[/QUOTE] ``` This was one of the many problems I had with this. One of the things that made the series one of my pleasures was that the sword work was actually very good. They aslo did their research. So, unlike say **Conan the Barbarian** , not every sword got used like a katana. Rapiers got used like rapiers, broadswords like broadswords. Here... I looked at the cast and crew on IMDB, and noticed that there was no fight or sword coordinator listed. I assuming that they just pulled a George Lucas and had someone in the stunt department do it. The jerky, sped up camera work wasn't so much to show how "fast" the guardian was, but to hide the fact that the fight work was so bad. ``` ---
