> Um, 10 senators is not less than 1/10th of the senate. It is exactly 1/10th of the senate. So you seem to be correcting the wrong person.

I suggest reading lessons. 😉
**TWDuke** stated back in post #43 "10 Senators, which would be fewer than 1 out of 10 Democratic Senators at the time, "
**Captain Carrot** responded “how is 10 Senators of any party less than 1/10th of the Senate?” This, of course, presupposes that the Senate was entirely filled with Democrats.

To this, **TWDuke** replied “Math is hard.” Since there was no sense of apology in his statement, I took this to mean that **TWDuke** was saying to **Captain Carrot** that **Captain Carrot** had failed to properly calculate “1 out of 10”.

My response establishes that 10 Senators would not be fewer than 1 out of 10 of the whole Senate, let alone that part of it which was Democrat at the time. In short, **TWDuke** ’s math is suspect, as **Captain Carrot** pointed out.
