If Democrats had to appeal to the fragile sensitive egos of white voters in that way, they would’ve done so long ago.

It’s kind of like the convention version of “every campaign is the white dude’s campaign!”

You seem overly focused upon the race of the speakers.

I did notice that practically all of the delegations during the roll call mentioned Native Americans. I was wondering if that was a conscious effort.

Especially as more Hispanics are seeing themselves as white [as years go by](http://prospect.org/article/latino-flight-whiteness).

Weird. It’s almost as if the Democrats see women and minorities as being just as good as real people.

With all these hacks and leaks and whatnot, there have to be more than a few poop stains besmirching Democratic underpants these days. It’s all bullshit, these leaks are largely exposing the sausage making of party politics, but who knows what other sausages are out there? I’ll admit, this makes me nervous too. My underpants are still clean, however…for now.

Don’t know that it deserves its own thread and it seems as though it’ll benefit Clinton the most…

Fourth Circuit Court [ordered a halt](http://www.ca4.uscourts.gov/Opinions/Published/161468.P.pdf) to North Carolina’s voter ID law and other changes based on discriminatory intent.

> [@](#):
>
> To be clear, our injunction does not freeze North Carolina election law in place as it is today. Neither the Fourteenth Amendment nor § 2 of the Voting Rights Act binds the State’s hands in such a way. The North Carolina legislature has authority under the Constitution to determine the “times, places, and manner” of its elections. U.S. Const. art. I § 4. In exercising that power, it cannot be that states must forever tip-toe around certain voting provisions disproportionately used by minorities. Our holding, and the injunction we issue pursuant to it, does not require that. If in the future the General Assembly finds that legitimate justifications counsel modification of its election laws, then the General Assembly can certainly so act. Of course, legitimate justifications do not include a desire to suppress African American voting strength.
>
> * * *
>
> It is beyond dispute that “voting is of the most fundamental significance under our constitutional structure.” Ill. State Bd. of Elections v. Socialist Workers Party, 440 U.S. 173, 184 (1979). For “[n]o right is more precious in a free country than that of having a voice in the election of those who make the laws under which, as good citizens, we must live. Other rights, even the most basic, are illusory if the right to vote is undermined.” Wesberry v. Sanders, 376 U.S. 1, 17 (1964). We thus take seriously, as the Constitution demands, any infringement on this right. We cannot ignore the record evidence that, because of race, the legislature enacted one of the largest restrictions of the franchise in modern North Carolina history. We therefore reverse the judgment of the district court. We remand the case for entry of an order enjoining the implementation of SL 2013-381’s photo ID requirement and changes to early voting, same-day registration, out-of-precinct voting, and preregistration.

Besides which, Assange is reportedly claiming that his next data dump will be the one that contains enough evidence to indict Hillary Clinton, so he’s not waiting.

Whatever it is, if it exists, it probably paints her in a poor light, but there’s no way anybody’s going to indict anybody in a court of law on the back of purportedly leaked, hacked e-mails.

</div>

Okay, two things:

1. Indictment isn’t important. Beating her is important, gives Assange a very high profile scalp if he costs her the Presidency.

2. If Democrats fear, or worse, know, that there are secret emails that can sink her candidacy, why did they support her?

</div>

I mentioned the indictment part because that’s what Assange was apparently claiming. It just struck me as the verbal equivalent of clickbait or a movie trailer.

And your second question is quite worth considering, yes. Unlike Trump, some really high profile names are supporting her. To think that they did NO due diligence is ludicrous; in that sense, her family name’s rep for scandals probably helped her.

That presumes the leaked emails are not edited. I have heard there is evidence the previous leaked emails were edited by russian language computers. The fear is that she will be held responsible for fraudulent emails. The support of many people would increase, not decrease, if it were shown to be that kind of scam.

His convention-speech comment, “I alone can fix it,” should make every American shudder. He is, we believe, a danger to the Republic.

The perfect kind of surrogate to drive Trump nuts. Much, much richer than Trump, and unlike Bloomberg, a lot younger too.

(I’m guessing in part because she flipped “Trump” and “Clinton” on who Cuban was endorsing and then decided against the whole thing)
