This may be a stupid question, but why do you say history came to an end in 1918? I’ve seen that idea presented in other places, but I’ve never heard it explained.
I suspect CKDextHavn may be referring to a great work of British history entitled "1066 and All That! by Sellars & Yeatman. It’s a lovely funny little book (intentionally funny, I mean) and basically they reckon that history is what you can remember. Hence 1066, some later stuff with surfeits of lampreys, Roundheads, Royalists, chopped-off heads etc., till about 1918, and that’s that. So it’s roughly a bit of fun re. how much anyone remembers years after the school exams. If I’m wrong about CKDextHavn, apologies, but it’s tempting to go on about the book.
