For the most part, the “conservative” argument today isn’t much different, other than not providing a get-out-of-jail-free-card for current lawbreakers.

To be honest, I am not sure who that “argument” belongs to. It sounded like a “bleeding heart liberal” thing to say so I attached it to the “liberal” side. Am I right, though?
