This is a spinoff of the “Hit songs that disappeared” thread. (Before anyone mentions “Stairway To Heaven”, it was never released as a single.) My votes go to the Beach Boys’ “Kokomo” and Wilson Phillips’ “Hold On.” ---

Some examples are: The Joker - Steve Miller Jack and Diane - John Cougar Mellencamp Another Brick in the Wall - Pink Floyd Start Me Up - The Rolling Stones Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da - The Beatles Thunderstruck - AC/DC Welcome to the Jungle - Guns and Roses Fame - David Bowie I could be here all night coming up with more. ---

Anything played at weddings. It used to be “We’ve Only Just Begun,” by the Carpenters, then, let’s get down and get funky, and watch Uncle Sid boogie to the strains of “Who Let the Dogs Out,” and “The Macarena”. Thanks for listing “Kokomo”. That’s stuck in my head. I’ll have to listen to some Albert Collins or Willie Dixon now to get it out. ---
