Once, Charlie Chaplin entered a ‘little tramp’ look alike contest and he came in second.
He came in second to Hitler.
Believe it or not.

Us southerners will die before we allow you to put your evil plans into action .
So just calm down and invade Poland or something .
Oh and its not a hobby but Hitler was against hunting and was a vegetarian
He wasn’t a very strict one. He was quite fond of dumplings made from chicken liver. He also hating smoking (there’s a scene in Downfull where his officers all light up after he and the missus killed themselves).
He enjoyed to play and taking walks with his dogs (particularly Blondie of course), and also enjoyed American film, especially Charlie Chaplin, which might come as a surprise. As has been mentioned, he was very interested in architecture. If he would have it his way, according to his own repeated testimony, he would get this war over with, and focus on Welthauptstadt Germania and other more lustful activities instead. That of course, the Red Army saw to would never happen, thank God.
He also enjoyed King Kong.
Another hobby, allegedly, was having women urinate/poop on him. [del]Suppositorily[/del] Supposedly.
Is there a connection between these two?
Ewwwwww.

I had heard that Hitler did NOT personally enjoy Wagner, but only went to the Wagner Festival as a political maneuver, to try to appear more ‘German’ and gain the approval of the voting population. As evidence, it was said that he never went to the Festival at all until he became involved in running for office.
Are there any cites on Hitler & Wagner?
Are you sure? I seem to recall (from Speer’s autobiography) that it was Speer who made these drawings, not Hitler. Several of the Nazi leaders were upset at this, as it implied that some future German government would allow Nazi buildings to fall into ruins. But Hitler liked the idea that his buildings, even as ruins, would still be impressive and approved of Speers drawings.
I think that’s been pretty well recognized as untrue. It was propaganda, created by US Military people, who have stated that they basically just made it up – they had no evidence to indicate this at all.
Holding hands…long walks on the beach…petting puppies…genocide…
…All marks of a renaissance man.
Hitler and Churchill were both, if anything, undersexed. Hitler drove his women crazy by neglecting them.
I once saw a documentary that showed Hitler playing with a globe lying on top of a desk. Though the narrator didn’t say if that was a hobby of his.
There was a long-standing Nazi line of thought about ruins. Even before the war the Nazis spent more money than was needed on building techniques that would make good ruins in centuries to come.
Darn odd birds.
Yes.
The Specter of Hitler in the Music of Wagner.
August Kubizek was a close friend of Adolf Hitler when both were in their late teens.
This extract from The Ring of Myths: The Israelis, Wagner, and the Nazis by Naʾama Sheffi tells us that Hitler was spellbound by a performance of Lohengrin which he attended at the age of 12. He went so far as to attempt a short Wagnerian style opera in homage to his idol.
The author further reasserts the widely held view that Hitler’s first visit to Bayreuth took place in 1923 or 1924. It was around this time that he began cosying up to the Wagner family, forming a close and lasting relationship with them.
To be perfectly candid about this, you might have a problem finding a cite which argues that Hitler did not personally enjoy Wagner both musically and ideologically.
Actually it was Himmler who was into the occult stuff. Hitler thought it was pretty ridiculous but was willing to let Himmler have his fun as long as he kept up on his genocide during business hours.
I could be misremembering. It’s been a long time since I read Inside the Third Reich. Hitler was at least very intrigued by the drawings even if it Speer who actually drew them.
Speer says that Hitler spent hours with him looking at architectural drawings, and used it as a stress reliever. Not so much after the war started, of course.
There may some info at the, “Hitler Historical Musuem.” I haven’t looked at it but it does claim to have oodles of stuff on him.
IIRC, wasn’t Paula somewhat slow and childlike?
Didn’t he have a Marie Antoinette doll, Easy Bake Oven, and a guillotine? He would sit down and have a tea party with easy bake cakes, and then cut off her head. At least that’s the rumor.
