I’m reminded of an old joke about what Ed Gein found in his Christmas stocking, but it has racial overtones, so I won’t repeat it here. (Something to do with Brazil nuts… :rolleyes: ) Awfully nice marbling on that meat, though! 🆒 ---

But an identical article ran in [the Independant](http://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/africa/cannibal-restaurant-with-roasted-human-heads-on-the-menu-shut-down-by-police-9123693.html) in February, 2014 which references [this article](http://www.osundefender.org/?p=119765) from September, 2013 which is sourced from [this article](http://web.archive.org/web/20130816162144/http://www.naijazip.com/2013/08/hotel-selling-cooked-human-meat-found.html) from August, 2013 which ultimately sources it from [this forum post](http://web.archive.org/web/20130810210228/http://www.naijaloaded.com/forum/showthread.php?t_id=77216&page=1#) from August, 2013. The forum post doesn’t contain any details and appears to be on a site which seems to be about memes and humor. There’s no reason whatsoever to suppose it happened. I have no idea why the BBC would publish such a piece without confirming any of the details but it’s extremely poor practice on their part. ---

Further googling revealed [this](http://www.tribune.com.ng/news2013/index.php/en/news/item/18153-police-arrest-11-with-2-fresh-human-heads-in-onitsha.html) as seemingly the origin of the news from a credible source. Still, it’s a story from 2013 being reported as if it’s fresh news. ---

The reason why hidden human meat or “Chinese restaurant uses cat meat instead of pork” make no sense to me is that the cost (financial/risk) is too great to make it a $5.95 special. Either it’s not happening or customers know exactly what they’re buying. ---
