Ho do you keep autocorrect from adding an unwanted space?

I’m not sure what you mean by that. If I’m typing on gboard and I select some text in the text area, I get a menu with “Cut”, “Copy” and “Share”. Tapping “Copy” gets a “Copied to clipboard” message. If I then press/hold in the text area, I get “Paste”, “Clipboard” and “Select All”. Tapping “Clipboard” brings up a history of things I’ve saved to the clipboard, which is a very cool feature. What exactly is missing that makes you say gboard doesn’t have a clipboard?

I don’t see any of that. When I select text, I see “Select all” “Cut” “Copy” “Paste” and “Share”. I get no message when I tap “Copy”. When I hold in the text area, I get “Select all” and “Paste”. I don’t see “Clipboard”, and AFAIK, Gboard does not have a native clipboard feature.

Apparently, your clipboard comes with your phone. It doesn’t come with mine, unless I use a keyboard that has one.

“copy” and “paste” IS clipboard.

You copy text onto the clipboard. You paste text from the clipboard. NB: this has nothing to do with the keyboard. If anything, it’s a screen thing. It’s not like PCs with their fancy “control” keys. Control-c and control-v are luxuries; the basic function is still there even if you have to use your pointing device (mouse menu on a PC, long-press screen menu on a phone or tablet)

Seriously, you did not know that?

ETA: Every Android device I’ve ever had, from an HTC Desire with Android 2.2, had that exact clipboard implemetnation.

Yes, I know that. What I mean is, I can only copy and paste one item at a time. SwiftKey allows me to view multiple items in the clipboard and choose which to paste instead of pasting just the last item I copied. This helps when posting multiple links on another page for example. I can copy all of the links, go to another page, and paste them all, instead of copying one, dropping it on the other page, then copying another link, returning to the second page to paste it, etc.
