Bree-land, which contains Bree and a few other villages, is the only place where Hobbits and Men lived side by side. It was inspired by the name of the Buckinghamshire village of Brill, meaning "hill-hill", which Tolkien visited regularly in his early years at the University of Oxford, and informed by his passion for linguistics.

Actually someone may have popped in via Burroughs-Libby continua device (and hidden by Jemhadar personal cloaking tech) and swiped it at the last second.

Not that I’d know anything about that.

Fool of a Took! If the ring survived, then why did Barad-Dur fall? If the ring survived, why did the powers of the three begin to fade? There’s just no way to reconcile the ring’s survival with the observed effects as documented in the Red Book of Westmarch.

Enjoy,
Steven

Obviously because removing it from its Reality of Origin qualifies as destroying it even more so than dropping it into the fires of Orodruin. Both broke the mystical connection between Sauron & the Ring, not to mention the Ring & the Morgoth Element of Arda. In additional, the Burroughs-Libby method reduces the total mass of the RoO by a measurable (albeit insignficant) amount, thus setting in motion a chain of events that ultimately causes said reality to undergo heat death about

two billion years sooner than was planned.

Also, **I** do the “Fool of a Took” lines, thankyouverymuch.

And if it didn’t survive, then why has Halliburton started buying up every volcano in Indonesia since the hobbit remains were found?

Well it is Haliburton, as per Cheney’s standing orders they just like to keep tabs on any possibilities for more evil and corruptions. They’re still looking for Fafnir’s Ring\*, the Monkey’s Paw, The Dark Ibis and even the Maltese Falcon and that last one doesn’t even make sense. However, they are thorough in their evil.

They have 3 copies of the Elucidarium Necromanticum Petri de Abano and the even have 91% of the Necronomicon[sup]1[/sup].

- Also known as the Ring of the Nibelungs.

[sup]1[/sup] Long Story but in summary it turns out this is not fictional but as Skald well knows, they were only able to recover most of the book but not the all important back cover and final pages.

Dude! How many times do I have to tell you NOT to talk about stuff like that when the Justice League is around! Everybody knows Sampiro is actually Aquaman!

I think **robardin** was asking what made the One Ring so mojoistic that it could rule the 3, 7, & 9.

Perhaps Haliburton is looking for Thetans in the volcanoes.

Maybe the Thetans already have the ring!

They store it in Elrond’s Cupboard I presume?
