BEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEP.
Allright you Jesuit school puke, how about three goals in the last the last 1:24 of the game to spice things up?

Gawdamighty! Three times I thought the Sens had the game tied up. I was bouncing up and down on the couch. Friggin’ Sabres.
Really good game, although a tad too close for comfort. Now I gotta sit through the overtime. Bugger.
.18 seconds into overtime and GOOOOOOOOAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLL!
Go Sabres!
Jeeezus. That was ugly.
Holy shit but that was a terrible display of defence by the Sens. 5 2-on-1s. 5 goals on one-time shots. The only one that Emery had a shot at was the OT winner. We need to be better than that. We also need to be more opportunistic offensively. We had our chances, but we never put Buffalo away and it killed us.
We? We?
Really Rysto? I didn’t know you were somehow affiliated with the team?
What’s with this “we” mentality in Ottawa? It’s a frickin’ hockey team. A hockey team who finished dead last so many decades in a row that they somehow “managed” to make some decent draft picks. And now, in a year or two, things will return to normal and the Senators will be like any other small market NHL team trying to make a living with mediocre talent and mediocre fan support.
The Sabres will finish them off this year.
:dubious: And you’re a fan of who exactly? Cause if you were a leafs fan, you criticizing Rysto for his choice of words and affection for his team would be totally ironic, not to mention slightly bitter since the Leafs didn’t even make the playoffs this year. :dubious:
Glad to hear that Buffalo won it. I hope the rest of this series is as interesting.
2-0 Anaheim in the second.
I’m having duck for dinner tomorrow night.
Bastards!
Wretched train wreck of a game defensively.
I’ve got no clue about hockey anymore. Doesn’t the entire world play this game? Can’t we find at least 20 people that can play NHL type games in net?
Yeesh!
In Anaheim, Duck has you for dinner!
Keep the picks against Emilio Estevez loving Mallards coming…they feed on it. 5-0 asskicking on the Avs last night for those of you back east who were snoozing during the goalapaluzzafest.
At this point I would like to offer my services to all hockey fans. For a small fee, not only will I not pick your teams in the playoffs. I will pick the other team to win. Guaranteed to help take your team to the stanley cup.
Wow! Those Canes are somethin’ else. I’m hoping they go all the way, only because I’d like to see hockey become a bigger part of Southern culture. Seems like they’ve won a lot of fans down there in NC, but maybe hockey fever can spread south with a big run.
Exactly what I’m thinking. I should start rooting FOR the Sabres at this point.
Not me. I like Buffalo, which is why I think Ottawa is going to win the series.
Sorry folks. I think that game Friday night was my fault. I watched up until it was 5-4 Ottawa, then I went out to do some shopping. I came back and turned on the TV, and the score was exactly the same–nothing while I was out. Then all hell broke loose again. Obviously, if I had just stayed away the whole time, it would have been a decent game.
Seriously, that was some horrendous goaltending Friday. Did either goalie make a single save without dishing up a big, juicy rebound? If the guys in the net are going to be that bad throughout the series, there’s no way of knowing which team will win.
Duck fans, don’t get too excited. Bryzgalov (sp?) is on a roll right now, but let’s see what happens after his streak gets snapped. Kind of like the Devils on Saturday. Once Carolina stood up to them and went at them hard, all that “invincible” shit went right out the window. If Colorado scores first next game, you might see the series tied before you know it.
Or not, which is fine with me, because I know the Sharks can kick Anaheim’s ass.

You’re a Leafs fan, therefore not a hockey fan, so you don’t know what you’re talking about.
Not A Tame Lion, I’m not so sure I agree with you. I don’t think Bryzgalov is that good, I just think the Avs are that terrible, and serves as an indication of how badly the Stars choked in Round 1. The Ducks’ defense is really clearing the puck out from the front of the net, so that helps.
We’ll see if Home ice has any advantage for the Avs, but 8-0 in 2 games is not a fluke.
Please, oh please…keep it coming…we feed on this smack. Don’t give a rookie his props for matching Frank McCool’s shutout streak of 3 playoff games back in 1945. Don’t get excited when the penalty kill allows one shot or less, or when we win the majority of faceoffs therefore controlling the puck for the majority of the game, increasing our scoring chances and most of all, scoring.
Naw, I sure as hell ain’t excited.
I know it’s gonna be harder to get a win in Denver, but how much harder is up for debate. I think the Ducks will split in Denver.
Any other goaltender (let alone a rookie) that puts up 3 scoreless games gets applauded. If it was Brodeur, Roy, Hasek, etc…everyone would be talking about how great they played, regardless of which team they played against. What I see here is another occurrance of “Duck Denial” just like 2003 playoffs when they went through a much more powerful Detroit, a much more powerful Dallas and another strong up-n-comer Minnesota, but only to lose to New Jersey in 7. The core element of Neidemeyer, Salei, Selanne with the extra dimension of speed and grit from vets like Friesen, Marchant, Neidemeyer, etc. plus rookies who are not shrinking to any task who are not making any mistakes, is a team that can possibly be cup contenders like they were a mere 3 years ago. And if Bryzgalov falters, then a healthier Giguere will come back in.
But go right ahead and deny it all. I’m ok with it.

Sad, but true. (sighhhh)
I must admit, I only saw part of Avs/Ducks Game 1, and nothing of yesterday’s game. My assessment is based largely on what I saw of Anaheim over the whole season, not just the last two games. They’re good, but I’m not convinced they’re better than the other teams in the West. And just as there is denial, there’s also getting carried away. Remember, today’s pig is tomorrow’s bacon. Hot goalies can cool off, and a goalie is as good as what he does in tonight’s game–not what he did last game. That’s all I’m sayin’.
