I’m disappointed in $5 Bioshock. That game plays like a bad console port. I wouldn’t buy it again, if I could go back. $5 Peggle Deluxe is amazing and amazing value. That game is awesome. I bought Audiosurf for $3 a few weeks back, but I’d definitely be willing to pay $5 for it. It’s also great. If you’re not into the id pack, at least buy Ultimate Doom and Doom 2 for $1 each. It’s a $1 and Doom deserves it. The id pack is pretty amazing though, but I’ve played all those games for years. Maybe if id sexed it up with a Quake Live invite, eh? Huh? Are you listening id? I’m waffling over the Civilization 4 pack, Unreal Tournament 3, and maybe the id pack. Damn I want to play Commander Keen again. ---

Bah. I’d held off on buying all this stuff because I don’t know how much of it will run on my system (HL2 just about pushed it to its limits). Now I might have to bite the bullet. ---

I ended up buying **World of Goo** , but I kinda wish I hadn’t. I suck at it. It’s a lovely looking game with quirky artwork reminiscent of Dr. Seuss mated with Tim Burton, and also the music & sound effects are adorable, but … I suck at it. And I’m not quite certain why it’s gotten so much intense praise, although in fairness I suspect that’s because I haven’t gotten far enough into the game, and also because of my aforementioned suckage. Serves me right for getting it without trying the demo first. Fortunately, it just cost $15 so I’m not really complaining. If you’re a fan of Lemmings or Bridge Builder or such games, it might be something you’ll really enjoy. Now I’m debating going for **BioShock** , which is more my speed (I love the HL series and STALKER), but that’s one demo I _did_ try, and it was frustratingly samey. So I probably won’t get it. ---

The last day’s actually Jan 2. I got Bioshock (I’ve played it before, but for $5, I’ll take GOTY 2007 again), World of Goo, Multi-Darwinia, and finally Unreal Tournament 3 (for half off). Definitely an awesome time to pick up Portal, TF2, or Audiosurf if one hasn’t already. ---

TrackMania is kinda fun. Stunt mode reminds me of Crash mode in the Burnout series.
