I also have to disagree. Most Brits who are not English do not like it when foreigners mix up the UK with England. I am very proud to be British and Scottish. I am not however, English.
We acknowledge the role England plays in the UK being the largest and most populous country, but to us, someone mixing up the UK and England shows either a disrespect or lack of geographical intelligence.
Incidentally, I always say I’m Scottish when I’m abroad to avoid confusion. That was until an American man told me he loved Scotland and that Dublin must be awesome. :smack:
