Every day we’re hearing of new allegations of some kind of sexual abuse by directors and actors. I listen to a radio talk show every day and the host posed this question: Can you name an actor that it would genuinely surprise you if they were accused? The host said he couldn’t think of a one. He said if Jimmy Stewart was still alive that might surprise him. So who would surprise you? ---

Tom Hanks would surprise me; but then again he is the closest thing to Jimmy Stewart we have. I would also be surprised by Michael J. Fox. ---

Tom Hanks cheated on his wife with Rita Wilson. Obviously that’s not the same thing, but he’s not a paragon of virtue. ---

I obviously don’t know anything about these people, so I guess I’m never all that surprised when I hear that they have some secret scandal going on. That said, learning that Steven Spielberg is accused of sexual harassment or assault would be a pretty big surprise to me. ---

If Kevin Bacon were accused of pretty much any impropriety, I’d probably assume the claim was baseless. ---
