I slightly recall hearing about Katie wanting to be in the second and the movie folks shooting her down. She apparently thought her character was vital to the script? Anyone hear more about this?
I hadn’t heard any of that. I think it was the Hollywood Reporter that reported that she was released from her contract for the sequels because the producers were mad at her for promoting Tom Cruise’s War of the Worlds over her own movie.
Well now I’m all upset!
I read the title and was thinking “Sherlock Holmes in Batman? That would be silly.”
Maybe he’ll name his computer HOLMES?
Only a Yo-Yo would do that.
LOL. I thouht the same thing. Didn’t see how they would pull it off, but hey, it IS based on a comic book.
I’ve heard conflicting reports. Right after the film, I heard her option was not picked up. Later, I read (I think in EW) that she was signed on for the sequel.
I wonder if that was just the pod people trying to do a little damage control?
Batman and Sherlock Holmes have met before. It wouldn’t work in the movies, though.
By Batman 2 do you mean the one with Michelle Pfeiffer and Danny DeVito?
The sequel to this year’s Batman Begins, Dextrin.
So that would be Batman 6? I think it’s up around that number.
Six? I know of no “six.” There were no movies between Batman Returns and Batman Begins. The franchise simply stalled. The notion of “six” preposterous. If you know what’s good for you, you’ll not speak of this again.
Never mind her promotional duties. She just sucked harder than a Dyson sweeper in Batman Begins. That alone is enough to relegate her to the Heap of Forgotten Superhero Love Interests. I wish they’d have done the same with Margo Kidder.
Stranger
Heh. Now we have a vacuum cleaner google ad at the bottom.
My probem with the Batman franchise:
5 movies,
5 love interests,
5 love interests captured by the villain and rescued by Batman
5 big reveals of Batman telling the gal he’s ruce Wayne.
This is BATMAN! He’s not Tony Stark, He can get along for 90 minutes without a girlfriend to show him how lonely his solitary lifestyle is!!
Here’s a mind-blowing concept -hold on to your hats, NO love interest in the next movie! Will audiences be able to handle a Batman movie without witty flirtatious banter? I’m willing to risk it!
Hey! Chris O’Donnell is free now! Maybe HE could be the new love interest in the next Batman movie…
AND I think it’s time for me to apoligize for my amazingly vague thread title. Sorry to anyine who was mislead…although, since it DID get you in here, perhaps I’m not that sorry.
As for Miss Holmes-Cruise, she was notable in BB. Ok, NVM, all the “chilly” jokes have already been done. :wally
And…also that’s anyOne
John Holmes and Batman? But how… Oh that Holmes.
Define “Bat”.

The nearest thing there was to a love interest in Batman & Robin was the practically-not-there Vendala, to whom Bruce did not reveal his secret identity.
That said, B & R is the worst of the franchise by far.
