Holy crap, that guy's unfunny - but everyone else loves him!

I don’t know who they are…?

Did you at least like “Freaks and Geeks,” though?

I would rather nail my lower lip to the South end of a Northbound mass transit vehicle than sit through a standup routine OR interview with either Robin Williams or Richard Lewis. I have made that heroic death dive across the living room to grab the remote and switch channels in order to keep the not funny out of my house.

I don’t know why I’m surprised others feel this way.

Dunno, never saw it. But wasn’t the unfunny douche Seth Rogen in it? Highly unlikely I’d like it if so.

He was, but not all that much.

Please tell me what you’ve seen/heard by him and I will attempt to guide you toward the light. No one should go through life thinking that Richard wasn’t funny. That would be like going through life without having ever known love.

Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job!. I think it’s on Adult Swim or something, but they’ve got an… extensive website. You will never run out of Tim and Eric material. You can watch it to your hearts content, should your heart be contented by it.

They also did Tom Goes to the Mayor, I think.

Never watched Seinfeld after trying it once (and it sucks cause all my friends can quote it all the time.) QUOTE]
Now, I can get someone not likeing Seinfeld.

But if your judging hundreds of hours of “comedy” on a half hour slice…well what can I say?

Oh god, Adult Swim. I loved Adult Swim from around 2001 - 2003, and then just kind of stopped watching it for no particular reason. A few months back I decided to get back into it so I Tivo’d several of the shows. Once they had all recorded a few days later I made dinner and called my wife in to bask in the hilarity with me. We could not get through more than 3 or 4 minutes of any of those shows. They were SO AWFUL I was shocked.

On a related note, I think that anyone who would use the word “random” in a description of something they find funny needs to have their sense of humor ripped out through their asshole and recalibrated.

I was/am a BIG fan of Family Guy, but for the past coupla seasons they have just gotten so political that they’re not even doing the jokes they used to do.

Family Guy seasons 1-4 or so were GREAT! Yeah the jokes were kind of random (sorry Cisco) but they were smart, they made fun of history, language, the arts…now they just have"Bush is stupid, republicans are stupid".

And speaking of “Bush is stupid, republicans are stupid”…Bill Mahr…I HATE him.

If you have opinions, great…if you wanna make jokes about them, more power to ya. But my god stop with this “I am right and no matter what you say that will not change. Oh and by the way you are a stupid person and how are you not as smart as me?” His HBO show is the worst thing to ever hit television…EVER

I like Bill Maher when he’s working his material. But, Jebus, when he starts preaching his “I know how to save the world and it’s for you to stop eating the food you’re eating and stop taking medicine” shit, I change the channel. Someone has got to take him aside and make him realize that that’s exactly the kind of self-righteous claptrap he makes his living tearing apart.

Page three and no mention of Colin Quinn!?

Perhaps, this is because no one ever thought he was funny. This open letter sums up my thoughts on his “act” better than I could myself:

(Shakespearety was originally “shitty”, don’t know why it changed)

Watched a few minutes of Raw on YouTube. I won’t bother with any more. It’s garbage, and if you like it, then you like stupid garbage.

I maintain that Larry David got such great press because his show was about Hollywood and traded in the kind of humor Industry people could relate to. There was also an inevitable kiss-ass factor involved, since he’d been so successful with Seinfeld.

I think the world may have (thankfully) forgotten about Andy Milonakis but he was godawful. He took the whole self-deprecating thing overboard to the point where his show was just embarrassing to watch.

This guy is useless as a comedian. He reminds me of someone’s “funny” uncle. Some 6 year old said, “Uncle Carlos, you’re so funny!” and he decided to make a career out of it.

Oh god, those fuckers. Cartoon Network is constantly talking about how popular those two shows are (at least they used to, I don’t know if they still do) and I have never met a single Adult Swim fan that can watch more than a few minutes of either.

Eric Wareheim, particularly, has an uncanny knack for destroying every shred of funny in any project of which he is a part. It is a puzzlement why he continues to work in show business.

This thread just goes to show how differently wired our humor gene is.

And no one’s bitched about Russell Peters!
