This: [http://456321.tripod.com/spider.jpg](http://456321.tripod.com/spider.jpg) thing crawled over my foot today as I sat shoeless on my deck. I live in the southern us, if that helps with ID. Sorry the image is so blurry my hands were shaking from fright. It is about 1 1/2" long and brilliant orange with a HUGE abdomen or whatever they call it. ---

No idea on the spider, except big. Howerver, to see images hosted on tripod you have to copy and paste into your browser. Tripod doesn’t allow you to link directly to the pictures. ---

[Marbled Orb Weaver?](http://www.troyb.com/photo/gallery/066-08-MarbledOrbWeaver.htm). Note the similarilty on the legs. I believe that this was taken in Georgia, so it’s near enough to you. ---

Apparently it’s non-poisonous (or is that venomous, I’m never sure). From what I saw on Usenet, even its bite isn’t that bad. Not that that would help me with my little spider phobia 🙂 . ---
