As of Saturday, June 11th, I will officially be forty. As in “Oh no…four-oh!” and “Lordy, Lordy, look who’s forty”. How the hell did this happen, I wanna know? I demand a re-count! ---

meh. Been there, done that. 🙂 My forties have been better than my 30’s which were better than my 20’s. “They” say that your 40’s are the new 30’s so really you’re not losing anything! Rejoice and wear your age with pride! Happy Birthday! ---

**HAPPY BIRTHDAY!** The group of friends I work with all consider it an honor to turn 40 and have all had fabulous 40’s so far. We’ve noticed it’s made us lots more outspoken. Not sure if everyone agrees this is a good thing, but _we’re_ happy about it. GT ---

Thanks for all the good wishes, guys 🙂 And thanks for the laughs (I can _always_ count on Dopers to crack me up!). I think what **twickster** said describes it best. I was feeling a little “weirded out”…although I don’t think I could say exactly why. So far I haven’t traded in my boyfriend for a younger man or bought a new convertible, but I do confess to going out and buying myself waaaayyyy too many pairs of shoes the other day. I know, I know. If I’m going to have a mid-life crisis, I’m going to have to do much better than that. 😉 ---

I wasn’t freaked out by turning 40, but everyone acted like I should’ve been. The best thing about being 40 and beyond, is when people say, “wow, you don’t look that old”. HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! And you too, **Aangelica.** ---
