I don’t think there is any ‘standard’ at all; a wide variety of sizes are available, probably the most popular is the ‘fridge-freezer’ which is about 5’ plus high - the top third being freezer and the bottom two-thirds fridge. Many households have a chest freezer in the garage/utility room and may have little or no freezer space in the kitchen. There’s probably a US/UK difference in the range of things that we keep in our fridges - I’m not sure about the US, but we don’t tend to keep vegetables (except salads) in the fridge. Fridges in the UK will probably need to be bigger in the future as we rely more and more on pre-prepared packaged meals.
No, everything comes with a plug now, you only have to fit one if it gets damaged.
Most of this has now been replaced by leaflet dropping or telesales now, at least in my area.
Well, I do; milk in cartons or bottles from the supermarket doesn’t have that two inches of rich cream floating at the top - lovely on the breakfast cereal. My milkman can also supply fruit juices (also in returnable glass bottles) and a range of other basic provisions.
This certainly used to bethe case, but is changing rapidly as the nation becomes more TV-centred. Digital TV, Cable/Satellite are gaining ground
