We didn’t have Homecoming in my high school, not prom court, nor superlatives at the end of senior year. In my kids’ school, it’s a pretty big deal.
Last year a transgender not was elected Homecoming king, so that was cool.
So now the staff will select someone who’s values align with the staff.
That sucks.
I get that the Homecoming Queen is for people who care about the Homecoming Queen: I’d like to think that schools accepted diversity enough to have a place for those people too.
