You can definitely take The Grand Canyon off that list of parks that allow the spreading of ashes. ---

I used to joke with my wife that when I died I wanted to be cremated on a funeral pyre of all my books. She always replied that she didn’t think she’d be able to get a permit to re-create the Great Chicago Fire. ---

Nothing regarding funerals, scatterings, organ donations etc. should be in a standard will. Those go in a separate document which should be kept in a location the right people can access. Esp. do not put a will or living will in a safe deposit box. Those can be locked until probate. ---

Mine is simply online, in a folder all my adult family have access to. The paper copy is with my accountant, which I assume would be the definitive. (Some accountants here can do some low-level legal stuff, a concept called “Commisioner of Oaths” and I don’t have a lawyer). ---
