Something about a water pipe bursting and taking out lots of stuff, including the connection to the world via websites is my understanding from desperately seeking news. Great to see 'er back ---

Cecil apparently was late for a deadline (as usual) and couldn’t get to the toilet when he needed to. Then, when he finally did get to release his held bladder, well, we’ve all heard about his endowment, so the results are predictable. ---

Welcome back, welcome back, Chicago! The boards and main page disappeared while I was writing a post - I hit ‘preview reply’ and got zilch - again and again and again; I bet I’ve checked the site 300 times over the last couple of days. The way things are these days, I was seriously afraid that Chicago had been nuked or something! Thank you, thank you, thank you, Chicago Reader and everyone who busted their tails getting everything back on line. I sure miss this place when it’s gone! ---
