I thought the military was using the M16A2 rifle?
The most common individual weapon is the M16A2. However, even the M16A1 is a reliable and effective weapon by most objective criteria, having an undeservedly bad reputation by due to problems with earlier prototypes. The myth of the shoddy M16 is information that was obsolete 30 years ago.
Mostly M16A4s and M4s now.
And what they did change (digi-cammies) they had the sense to let someone in an entire other country try the concept first.
I just went through the whole buying new ACU’s experience with my husband. The ACU’s cost about the same as the BDU’s and so do the boots. The insignia cost more but that was about all. We live near Fort Bragg so we were able to hit clothing sales and the military discount stores for the cheaper boots.
Personally I miss jungle greens, guys looked so hot in jungle greens.
I still have not seen a photo of this new uniform. The US Army website is one of the worst I have ever seen.
