Morning, everybody. I am very happy that it’s Friday and I get two days off soon. 🙂 The yearly Great Big Halloween Party is tomorrow night, so I get to wear my awesome costume and fight with some fake eyelashes. There are some big changes at work, and thus far it seems like the biggest inconvenience is that starting in January, I’ll be working 40 hours a week instead of the 37.5 I’ve been doing for the last six and a half years. I know it’s not much, but some people are furious. They’ve also changed the vacation policy, so instead of moving up to four weeks of vacation when I hit the ten-year mark, I have to wait until fifteen. That makes me mad, but who knows if I’ll even still be here at the ten-year mark, let alone the fifteen. Other than that, I have a lot of forms to fill out but not a lot else is changing. Except our insurance. Again. ---

Happy Firday! It’s a nice sunny breezy 63 degrees with a projected high of 68. It’s supposed to rain but it doesn’t look like it. I’m hungry this morning but I overslept a bit and had to log in as soon as I got up so breakfast can wait a bit. that is all for now ---

I feel like a human busy signal right now. The TENS unit is buzzing away on my back at a rate almost identical to a busy signal. (Hey kids, in case you’re wondering what a busy signal is, back before everyone had voicemail, if you tried calling someone and they were already using the phone, you’d get this \*bwaap-bwaap-bwaap \*sort of noise called a busy signal to let you know the other person was on the phone.) Why are cops driving around the neighborhood so much? A local cop has pulled into the cul-de-sac twice and parked for a couple of minutes twice in the past ten minutes. Trash can bandits, maybe? ---

The neighborhood where my very first house was located had a trash can bandit. Seriously. Several of my neighbors had their trash cans stolen. These were the big ugly ones provided by the city. The thing to do was put your can out at the street the night before pick up day. So there were trash cans all along the street. Several were stolen durin’ the night, trash and all. Weird. The city wanted to charge those whose cans were stolen a replacement cost. There was such an uproar the city didn’t charge. Of course, fees went up the next year. So, **gotti** trash can bandits do exist. There are people out there lurkin’ in the shadows ready to make off with your weekly household garbage. :eek: ---

Someone just took my trash! They weren’t terribly sneaky about it either - they drove up in a noisy truck with bad brakes, grabbed the trash and left. ---

Now, I’m just waiting for the recycling thieves to rumble past. Actually, we’re fortunate that there isn’t much of a recycling theft problem here. When I was living in San Francisco, the bin bandits would prowl up and down the streets with clattering shopping carts that they’d stolen from grocery stores, paw through bins looking for aluminum cans, and generally leave a mess in the wee hours of the morning. I’ve survived Groundhog Days 2013 - my nickname for “student days” at the Faire as unlike my normal Faire days, all we do for the most part is go back and forth to the Joust, where they run the same script three times a day. The kids seem to like it, which is the whole idea. Ooh look! Shiny people on parade! I just hope those little germ factories known as children haven’t infected me. I woke up today feeling a touch oogy. Speaking of oogy, some good friends are getting married tonight. They, as well as pretty much the entire guest list, are Rennies. I predict many people will be feeling a bit tired or even hung-over tomorrow at Faire, depending on how long the party goes. :eek: (The prospect of hung-over people is the oogy part - not that someone’s getting married.) ---

I has a grump today. Talked to realtor and the girl in the office hasn’t heard a thing back from the seller so she is going to send him a little reminder. I’m thinking about getting a storage unit anyway, just to start clearing stuff out and see what goes and what gets tossed. Maybe get one of those pods in the driveway since my niece is still using my mother’s car and the space is there. I’ll have to see what they cost. ---

Why can you just not call a company and get a quote? They want to set you up at no obligation, the price only holds for 7 days, its like damn people I just want a quote so I have some kind of idea what I am dealing with. ---
