Blurf. Finding an inexplicable purple rash on your arm, that doesn’t fade under pressure, right as you were heading to bed is not a good way to get a relaxing night’s sleep. I wound up phoning the emergency doctor, and staying up half the night. It doesn’t seem to be anything serious- it’s fading already- but I’ve had the whole _if you’re feeling ill and a rash matching that description appears, get thee to hospital right now or you’ll DIE!!_ hammered in for years- but no one ever bothered mentioning what to if you got just the rash when not feeling ill… Anyway, am not ded, just very tired and blurfy. Am supposed to be doing craft stuff, but am having trouble finding my givadammer. ---

Blurf. I think my givadammer is broken, at least it certainly isn’t working properly. I’m a bit tired today and not particularly enthusiastic, largely because I’ve got a boring job to do but I want to get it finished so I am soldiering on with it. And tonight I have Fat Club to look forward to, oh joy. Nice to see you back, **Taters** , those are lovely pics and I’m definitely putting Kauai on my list of places I want to visit where the wildlife won’t kill me. **Nuts** - have you got chestnut poisoning? Did the emergency doc tell you to take a couple of aspirins and call again in the morning if you weren’t dead? That’s about as much use as I’ve ever had out of them. ---

I am back at work. However, I do not give a damn about being here. Hard to care when I’m not being paid. I came back to a shit ton of “NEED THIS DONE NOWWWWWWW!!!” emails. My out of office reply was on, and they had better hope they found someone more ‘essential’ than me to get it done. Still, even if it wasn’t done, I’m in no hurry. Between last summer’s furlough due to sequester (and the continuation of sequester) and being told to go home the first part of October, being recalled for no pay, I have lost all interest in my mission. I’m sick of being short staffed, I’m sick of being given impossible deadlines, and I’m sick of the attitude of the military members here who do not understand I am one person; NOT FOUR. :mad: Whew! My attitude is bad today. I plan to stay hidden in my office as much as possible. ---

I don’t know if I’m working on a migraine, or if I just don’t give a crap about life today. Either way, I moved my PT appointment to tomorrow, so I can just go home and whine on the couch tonight. 🙂 I considered taking a half-day because it is _extremely_ slow in the office, but I’ve only got one vacation day left that’s not already scheduled, and I think I’d rather save that for the day I wake up and decide I just can’t bear the thought of getting in the shower. ---

Time to order lunch. It’s only Sah-son and me here today so we can run amuck if we want. Mostly though we will enjoy the blessed peace. But we could run amuck if we wanted to. I have to get some laundry in. Then it will be irk irk irk except I have a few phone calls to make and it’s easier to make them when nobody is home. Sometimes when I am talking to a friend on the phone I will throw something outrageous into the conversation just to see how long it takes for it to get back to me. It never takes more than a day or two. I admit it, sometimes I enjoy playing with nosy gossips. ---

There still isn’t any agreement for backpay. But, assuming I do receive backpay for this non-paid time, they just tack it on to our normal paychecks so we can be taxed even more on it. What? Me bitter? Never… My boss just came in hammering on me about a project that they want by Friday. I laughed at her and told her there was no way. ---

Howdy! Irk has been irksome, thus livin’ up to its name. However, I have had the opportunity to be a self-righteous and smug bear with TPTB over reports and stuff they say they have not received. Not only did I prove it was all sent, I proved it was sent on time and I proved to whom it all was sent, down to date and time received. Surprise, surprise, surprise! Suddenly, all of it was found. I even got an apology. Go Me! 😃 Hey, gotta revel in these small victories, right? **Taters** sorry for the suckiness of your irk right now. I really, really, really hope Congress et al can get its act together soon. Doin’ a sorta kinda stir fry with the chikin I cooked on Sunday for dindin tonight. The rest shall become chikin sallit. I had thought the best way to handle congress was to dock them a months pay for each day of the shutdown. Now I think it’s time to get tough. Lock them all inside with no food, no drink, and no bathrooms breaks until they reach an agreement. Lunch has been eaten. I had a gyro, it was good but messy. Have one more phone call to make but the HFH is home and I may wait until tomorrow. It sucks when I either have to go out to my car to talk on the phone or wait until nobody is home. ---

I blew my budget for the week thanks to Detailed AGM, but it’s okay because it’s all for The Cause. He sent me across the street to the Dolla Sto’ to pick up a few bags of candy for a trunk-or-treat one of the other properties is having for The Children at the end of the month. It turned out to be more expensive than I thought because I got the good candy. No Smarties and el cheapo lollipops from me, no sirree bobaroonie! I got Laffy Taffy, Tootsie Pops, and a couple of bags of assorted Hershey’s. Came out to about $20, but as I said, it’s okay because it’s for The Cause. I think there’s admission charged to the trunk-or-treat and that money will go the local children’s hospital. Having been of of those hospital kids in the past, I support this cause. Other than that, it’s been another day in paradise watching people from Florida be miserable. I never want to live in Florida. Everyone there seems so unhappy. ---

Home, after a stop enroute at WalMart. I have now got 2 punkin pies in the oven. 😃 And pizza for supper, just because. 😃 And all the talk of soft pretzels reminds me that I want to make some soon… Work was \*meh \*- I finished everything I had, and I’m waiting for more to be assigned. Honest to goodness, I don’t know why they hired me, except that their regular drafter is slow and not too bright and spends way too much time whining about how busy she is. I swear, if they gave me her job (which I do NOT want) I could probably beat their backlog into submission in a couple of months. I’m looking for another drafting gig - if I find one, I’m outta there. Heck, I’d take an engineering gig if it sounded fun enough. No more big ball of fire in sky - in fact, it was drizzling on me as I drove home. Stoopit weather. Happy freekin’ Tuesday! 😛 ---

So I made the chikin stir fry thingy. Edible but not one of my better efforts. Don’t think I’ll try that again. Also have the chikin sallit made for sammiches and stuff. Tomorrow will be ham, scalloped N.O.T. and green beans. That will be better. And that’s the news from swampland. ---
